Jerome’s furniture launches “Smart Tracker” service for clients

Uber-style web map interface first of its kind for industry; notifies customers when delivery truck is en route, tracks progress


SAN DIEGO – July 11, 2017 – Jerome’s Furniture, Southern California’s renowned retailer for more than 60 years, announced today the launch of its Jerome’s Smart Tracker web service.

The free program will text customers when their delivery truck is en route and provide a link to an Uber-style map interface along with a countdown timer that tracks its progress down to the second.

“Smart Tracker is a perfect extension of our ‘Real Family Values’ promise,” said Scott Perry, Sr. Vice President of Digital and IT for Jerome’s Furniture. “Engaging our customers before, during and after the buying process ensures we exceed their expectations. The first of its kind offered by a furniture retailer, Jerome’s developed the program in partnership with Glympse, the leader in location sharing technology. Its launch comes three months after the retailer was named eTail West’s Best-In-Class Omni-Channel Retail Award winner, where Jerome’s beat out national chains at the association’s Palm Springs, Calif., event.

In addition to Smart Tracker, Jerome’s also offers customers the ability to leverage Augmented Reality through their mobile device and view how a particular item of furniture would look in their home before they purchase. Jerome’s also provides patrons the ability to download its Smart Shopper App. The free program can scan QR codes posted by every item in the showroom for customers to look up online reviews, videos and detailed product specs as they shop. This app track orders and create shopping lists as well.
